About Us

Ethan Matthews, the founder of Layvera, has always been captivated by cars, even as a child. Growing up in a small town near San Francisco, Ethan's weekends were often spent at car shows with his father, admiring the sleek designs and roaring engines of classic vehicles. But what truly sparked his passion was a Christmas morning in 2005 when he was just six years old.

That year, his parents gifted him a 1:18 scale model of a 1967 Ford Mustang. The moment Ethan unwrapped the gift, his eyes lit up. He spent hours carefully inspecting every detail of the model—the shiny red paint, the chrome bumpers, and the intricate interior. It wasn't just a toy to him; it was a masterpiece. From that day on, Ethan began collecting car models, saving up his allowance to buy a new one every chance he got.

Ethan's collection grew rapidly, and by the time he turned 12, he had over 50 models displayed proudly in his room. His parents even built custom shelves to accommodate his growing collection. But Ethan didn’t stop there. He started learning about the history of each car, fascinated by the stories behind the models he owned. He would spend hours reading about the cars' designs, their engineers, and the races they won.

Little did he know that this childhood passion would eventually evolve into a lifelong journey. That first Mustang model still holds a special place in his heart and sits prominently in his office today—a reminder of the spark that ignited Layvera's creation.
